I still can't believe that actor, rapper, record producer, singer and former leader of Heavy D & the Boyz, has passed away. He was only 44 years-old. I grew up listening to his music and admired his style. He had so many hit songs, such as "Now That We Found Love." He appeared in Michael Jackson's "Jam" video and Janet Jackson's "Alright" video. He will always be remembered as what he called himself the "Overweight Lover" but overall we have nothing but love for you, Heavy.

Happy Birthday Katherine Jackson!
5/4/11

Happy Birthday Katherine Jackson!!! The mother of the greatest entertainer that ever lived, Michael Jackson! The matriarch of Jackson family dynasty. She has turned 81 years-old today. She still looks radiant and still taking care of business. Raising all of her 10 children to be successful keeping them out of harms way. She deserves the best today and everyday. May God bless her with many more.

THE JACK5ONS: A Family Dynasty is Alright with Me

When I first heard that Jacksons were cominig out with a reality show I thought "Why now? Why after their brother's death? I thought exploitation all the way until I did further research and became addicted to watching it every Sunday. I also forgot the love the brothers had for Michael and that it was genuine. The show consists of Jackie, Jermaine, Tito and Marlon Jackson. The other brother Randy is not on the show. So far I caught one glimpse of Katherine, their mother, and heard the voice of Janet. There was also talk about whether or not Michael's children would make an appearance but their children and family do appear.
The episode that got me hooked was when they went to the premeir of Michael's rockdoc This Is It. Their reaction towards it was deep. They didn't really feel too comfortable but they were anxious at the same time. They felt it was too soon to see their brother preparing for the show that kept him away from them. But they banded together and went in.
They are also trying to record an album. There was an episode where they decided to go on lockdown away from everyone and focus on recording. They show them disagreeing with eachother but eventually things should come together in further episodes. But the brothers did stick by their brother Michael and continue to keep him in our hearts. As long as they do that I will support them.

Janet Jackson opened up to Robin Roberts about Michael

When Michael Jackson first died, my reaction was wondering how Janet was taking it. Then seeing her at the memorial service when Paris Katherine grabbed hold of her after her brief touching words, I knew she was trying to be strong for the family. It is a very tough time for her and the family. I was so proud of her when she was able to do an excellent and memorable performance opening at the MTV Video Music Awards. It touched my heart so much that I cried. I was also happy to see Janet Jackson open up for the first time since her brother's sudden death. I wanted to know how she was handling the situation, but I know it was devastating. Last month I did get the chance to hear LaToya's side. They were very close siblings. She mentioned how close they were and how he was an inspiration to her. She still finds it hard to go see the rockdoc film of Michael Jackson's final rehearsal days, This Is It, because it still makes her heart heavy. It is even hard for her to see the previews and posters advertising the film. I feel her pain because when I lost my father to congestive heart failure it is still hard to go to the church he preached in every Sunday. Just the memories that come into mind, no matter how long ago it was for me, will still bring tears to my eyes. The interview showed a side of Janet we haven't seen. She mentioned how she felt Michael's doctor, Dr. C Murray, was guilty for his death and how she did try to reach out to Michael before as intervention. Yet Michael shied away from the public and his family. This really has an affect on how she feels today. But Janet has always been known to be on Michael's side through his times of criticism, judgement and accusations.
