Holla at ya gurl, sike nah. Wassup yall! Yall know me. I'm an alumna of Montclair S. U. now! Been one since Aug 2nd 2007. I was a Geography major and concentrating in Environmental Studies. I'm an alumna of Arts High School and a resident of Newark, NJ. I love basketball and other sports. My favorite team is the WNBA's New York Liberty. I'm a nice down to earth person. I'm also a Michael Jackson Tribute Artist.
BIG THANK YOU TO MY MOM, MY SISTER LYDIA, BARRY, ELLIOT, MY ASSISTANT, DANCER AND LIL' SIS MICHAEL'LE, MY DANCER LISA, MY MJ SISTERS LOINEQUA AND STELLANIE, AND OF COURSE BREAKTHROUGH TV AND HOST TYRONE JACKSON AND ALL OF THE PEOPLE WHO CAME OUT AND MADE MY SHOWCASE A GREAT SUCCESS! LOVE YOU ALL!!!
This was my breakout performance. I was interviewed as myself and then broke out as Mikette. I performed to four of Michael Jackson's hit songs. My setlist consisted of "Billie Jean," "Beat It," "Jam," and "Thriller." I had such an amazing time.
Sunday August 12, 2012, at Washington Park in Newark, NJ hosted a tribute concert for the late legend Whitney Houston. The program included young talented singers performing some of Whitney Houston's hit songs. The event was also a community cookout as well. I even tried to dress like Whitney in her earlier days in the 1980s. It was a beautiful event and I definitely enjoyed myself.
March 30, 2012, the day after my birthday, I had the chance to dance again. This time it was before a very creative and poetic audience. The show was called "MORE THAN HIS RIB PART 2" LIVE AT THE P.O.A.R. SESSIONS at The Tea Bar in Union, NJ. It featured female spoken word artists, poets, and singers. I was the featured female dancer as Mikette. I debuted my military jacket I created myself from a thrift black blazer and some trimming. I brought a new hat, a new gold glove and a new pair of tented shades. I was so happy also to perform in my new arm brace that completed my Panther Michael look.
There were very interesting poetry and spoken word pieces. Some spoke of women empowerment, some spoke of love and other spoke of encouragement. I felt honored to be a part of a moving show. I can feel the creative edge and movement being done. Thanks to Unin Vited and IMOO Entertainment for having me as Mikette be a part of an amazing show honoring Women's History Month! Big ups to all the talented and positive people I was in the presence of tonight. Much ♥! Thanks to my mother and sister for your continuous love and support! Thank you to Barry Gray of Location Photography for showing support and taking such great photography.
Video of my performance recorded by my lovely sister, Lydia. Thank you!
On Sunday December 11, 2011, I had the honor of being photographed by New York and Los Angeles based photographer, Lorena Turner in her New York City studio. Lorena Turner is known for her exhibits which features Michael Jackson impersonators and tribute artists, called "The Michael Jacksons." She is very talented and brings out their inner Michael Jackson. So I was definitely excited and eager to work with her.
Plus it was my first Michael Jackson related photo shoot as well. I also invited two other impersonators/tribute artists to join me, Lamar "MJ" Coleman and MJsRaven, both of which are from New Jersy like me. We were also joined by Lorena's adorable son during the shoot. That day my true Dominique "Mikette" Wilson came out full swing. I can't wait to work with her again. Thank you so much, Lorena!
