The "First Holiday Party" and Performance

I had another opportunity to perform for the "First Hoilday Party" hosted by the Palm Street Block Association on Saturday December 20,2011. It was at the 43rd Street Cafe in Irvington, New Jersey. They are were surprised to see someone, espcially a woman, dressed as Michael Jackson and actually danced like him. I performed a medley with the songs "Dangerous," "Jam," and "Wanna Be Starting Something."
The party was was so much fun. One of NJ's state senators, Ronald Rice, Sr., and Newark's coucilwoman at large, Mildred Crump, was in attendance. I was fortunate to have an opportunity to perform before them. The music played was very good and a variety. People danced and had a good time. My mom, sister and boyfriend joined me on this adventure. The food was amazing and everyone had a great time. Here is a video of my performance and some photos.

Mikette as a Hand Turkey. Made it on Google on Thanksgiving Eve after I helped hand out turkeys at the church. Boy, were they heavy, but I got a workout and made someone's day special!

Halloween 2011

Once again another fun Halloween as MJ. I had dressed in my Dangerous tour outfit, since most of my costumers didn't get to see me in it. They enjoyed coming in and seeing me as the King of Pop. I even got to hand out candy to the children that were out getting candy. I always love the look on peoples' faces when they see me. Many ask me to bust a move, which I do. Then they are also shocked to see that I'm a woman.

After work, I went to a Halloween party with my mom and sister at a martial arts school. My sister's friend is the Master of the school, Master G's School of Martial Arts and Physical Fitness in Newark, NJ. The people who attended were students of all ages, parents and friends. The DJ, also an instructor, played Halloween related tunes like the "Monster Mash," the "Halloween" theme song and the mother of them all "Thriller." He even played "Ghosts" and along with his songs he had a monitor showing video scenes. You know I was glued with Michael Jackson. I moonwalked for the children and showed a few how to do it too. Then he began to play line dances such as the "Cha Cha Slide," Electric Slide," "The Cupid Shuffle," and more with my sister and mom. Then as the night winded down he played a number of Michael Jackson songs. I danced, took photos, and had a great time with great people.

Michael Jackson Candlelight Vigil 2011

6/25/11

It's hard to believe it's been two years already since the death of Michael Jackson. Of course it was my day to dress up as Michael Jackson and celebrate his life. I went to work and my co worker Deana had did my makeup for me. After that it was on. I stood outside my job and received so much love. It was amazing.

Now it was time to head over to NYC to pay my repsects to the King of Pop. On my way there we were jamming Michael Jackson tunes and waving at fans. It was amazing seeing all the reactions from fans of all ages. As we were approaching the George Washington Bridge, I looked out the window and waved at people and it helped the wait go so smoothly.

The event was held outside the Apollo Theater in Harlem, New York. There were so many people there and the energy was amazing. People were taking photos of me and with me the whole time. There were people wearing MJ shirts and accessories. There was news reporters out there and I was able to get a brief interview with a local station Televisa.

A name you all definitely need to look up and know is Moses Harper. She is by far the best Michael Jackson tribute artist I have ever seen. She had all the moves down to a "t" and expression. It was such an honor metting and sharing the same atmosphere with her. I'm still in awe about how down to earth she was. She was helping me break out of my shell. It was also amazing how instantly we bonded. It seemed like we knew eachother for years. That's the power of Michael Jackson. She has definitely gained a new fan and friend. The energy she posessed gave me chills. I would definitely love to see her again. Remember her name: MOSES HARPER
