Amateur Night at the Apollo: Moses Harper Pt. 3

Maybe I gave that away too early, but hell I'm so proud of her. She did her thing last night. All of her friends that showed up last night, jumped and cheered their hearts out for her. She went harder than before and surely Michael was dancing right by her side the whole time. I know I felt his presence in the building. All the energy was there, I was so hyped up running up and down the aisle for her.

This time my mother joined Shauna and I on this adventure. Boy, did we have a great time. After the hustle and bustle of work, we were on our way. We made it there with plenty of time to spare. When we got there DJ Jess had the crowd moving with oldies but goodies, the Cha-cha Slide and Cupid Shuffle. Of course my mom and I were jamming. Then the show began. Then came the segment when four random people are picked from the audience to do the "Apollo Soul Train Line." You know we made my mom go up there and she almost stole the whole show. She won and received four tickets to a play at the Apollo and an Apollo t-shirt. We jumped and cheered, it was awesome.

My mom was a celebrity taking photos with so many people and these girls were from Paris, France!

The two young men who performed for the "Stars of Tomorrow" segment did extremely well. I was cheering for both of them but the younger one, Amari Key, won and guess what he song? "Whose Lovin' You" and he reminded the audience of a young Michael Jackson. So cute!

Now it was time for the adults to come out. There was so much talent, but one guy was booed off and he was a spoken word artist. My friend, Nicole Ortiz, from my hometown Newark, NJ performed "I Am Changing" and I cheered for her with all my heart but sadly she didn't place this time. I was upset about it as well. There were other talents there that did so well. The violin and guitar duo, Unknown Lyric, came in second playing R&B hits with their instruments. Another instrumental talent came from Marisela, she sung and played her guitar and had the crowd mesmerized. She tied in third place with last time's first place winner Mario Evon, who sung a a hit reggaeton song. It was such a tight show. Other good performers who didn't place were the harmonica player The Professor, singer Carvelle Nell Romeo and a male vocalist G. Soul.

There was a special performance by singer Johnny Kemp. He's the singer of the song "Just Got Paid." He did a tribute song to Nick Ashford and then sung his hit song. He had the crowd up on their feet.

Back to Moses, she had a strong support system this time around. More of her close friends showed up and members from Michael Jackson Fans of NYC. I wore my light up glow and waved it all around to hype the crowd up. We are so proud of our MJ. She's definitely the closest we'll ever get to the real thing. Michael is definitely proud of her as well and he was there with us all.

Thriller: Tribute to Michael Jackson

I had the opportunity to see and be a part of a show that showcased so much talent and MJ love at the Black Box Theater yesterday in Harlem, NY. The performers included a singers and dancers of diverse ages. My friend, big sis and MJ Tribute Artist Moses Harper performed. I met so many cool people including mime dancer RALFii, singer Lia, Thrill The World NYC coordinators Amada, Jenna, David and many, many more. They did the Thrill the World version of "Thriller" and I made a brief cameo as Ola Ray's character aka "Freaked-out Girl" as the zombies arrived. I was surrounded by so many talented people and made so many friends. I had such a great experience with everyone, despite differences that occurred before I arrived. Everyone left with a smile.

Amateur Night at the Apollo: Moses Harper Pt. 2

There are very few people who can make a difference in someone's life and make change. There are very few people who stand out and show the world what they got. Many try but very few continue and succeed. The Apollo Theater has been the home to many hopefuls who dream of becoming stars. I was amazed last night at such talented seeing such talented people, young and old. It was such a hard time believing half of them were amateurs. They all were great. Of course, my bff Shauna and I were back in adventure mode. We were ready to see who my friend, Moses Harper was up against.

So proud of my big sis and MJ Tribute Artist Moses Harper! She put on a hell of a show! I'm not gonna lie to you!



There was so many people out there with raw talent, I was getting butterflies for her. But when she hit the stage wearing the light up glove I got her, we jumped and cheered our hearts out. She gave such a memorable performance. She emulates Michael Jackson's moves to a "t" and gains so much admiration. It was a sure thing to me that she would place first again. But this week was a change of opinion. I was shocked and couldn't believe what I was hearing. I'm not a bias person and I believe everyone has an equal shot at first place. I'm still happy she did place in second and she's still gonna continue her journey. I believe she will go far regardless. Just by the look on everyone's face when approaching her and the beautiful person she is inside and out.

I'm just excited she knows she is establishing a fan base. Not only a fan base for me but a lasting friendship. Like I said before and I will say it again, REMEMBER her name: MOSES HARPER! This woman is a phenomenal dancer and MJ Tribute Artist from New York City. We need to push her forward, I want to see her go far. She's such a sweet, talented and down-to-earth person. I know I am honored to have such a person enter into my life. From day one at the MJ candlelight vigil at the Apollo Theater on June 25th, she's been an awesome person. Amateur Night at the Apollo: Moses Harper

I said it before and I will say it again, REMEMBER her name: MOSES HARPER! This woman is a phenomenal dancer and MJ Tribute Artist from New York City. We need to push her forward, I want to see her go far. She's such a sweet, talented and down-to-earth person. I know I am honored to have such a person entered into my life. From day one at the MJ candlelight vigil at the Apollo Theater on June 25th, I pray our friendship lasts forever.
She performed last night at the Apollo Theater for Amateur Night. Even though she performed as an amateur, I feel she is totally professional. There were some many talented people there last night. The children that performed expressed tremendous talent. I was blown away. Two of the five finalist in the adult session were from New Jersy, my hometown. One was singer, Nicole Vanessa Ortiz (Newark) and Bryan Denis, both of which receieved standing ovations. Bryan placed in third and Nicole placed as runner up second.

I was so excited I made it to see Moses' performance. I found any way possible to make it there. My friend Troy was available to join me on this adventure. He's my life saver. Much luv and thanks to him. We enjoyed watching Moses magically perform her routine to Michael Jackson's hit songs "Dangerous" and "Wanna Be Startin' Something." She put her heart and soul into her performance and it radiated out to the audience. As she swept across the stage, all you can hear were "OOOs" and "Ahhhs" the whole time. She did memorable dances such as the "Side Step," the "Indian Stomp," the "Moonwalk," the "spin" and many more. She even did the "Lean" from "Smooth Criminal" and leaned her way into everyone's heart like magic.

I was so happy to be a part of her performance just by being there. She dedicated her performance to me. I was honored. I was so happy she got a ticket for me on the lower level. I jumped and cheered for her as loud as I could. After she received a rouring standing ovation for first place she walked over to the side and we made eye contact, then she thanked me. I felt so emotional I wanted to cry. After the show I waited out front for her. She came out and she hugged me and the energy was amazing. She held me and said "I did this for you." Words can't even describe how I felt at that moment. Just to know she was able to see me there showing her tremendous support made my night very special. You all really need to see this woman in action. She's the closest you will ever get to the late King of Pop. One of the best by far, you will ever see. Congrats sis! Love you always! Long live King Michael!

Michael Jackson Candlelight Vigil 2011

It's hard to believe it's been two years already since the death of Michael Jackson. Of course it was my day to dress up as Michael Jackson and celebrate his life. I went to work and my co worker Deana had did my makeup for me. After that it was on. I stood outside my job and received so much love. It was amazing.




Now it was time to head over to NYC to pay my repsects to the King of Pop. On my way there we were jamming Michael Jackson tunes and waving at fans. It was amazing seeing all the reactions from fans of all ages. As we were approaching the George Washington Bridge, I looked out the window and waved at people and it helped the wait go so smoothly.



The event was held outside the Apollo Theater in Harlem, New York. There were so many people there and the energy was amazing. People were taking photos of me and with me the whole time. There were people wearing MJ shirts and accessories. There was news reporters out there and I was able to get a brief interview with a local station Televisa.

A name you all definitely need to look up and know is Moses Harper. She is by far the best Michael Jackson tribute artist I have ever seen. She had all the moves down to a "t" and expression. It was such an honor metting and sharing the same atmosphere with her. I'm still in awe about how down to earth she was. She was helping me break out of my shell. It was also amazing how instantly we bonded. It seemed like we knew eachother for years. That's the power of Michael Jackson. She has definitely gained a new fan and friend. The energy she posessed gave me chills. I would definitely love to see her again. Remember her name: MOSES HARPER
