Black Cotton Foundation Post Holiday Party

I had such a great time yesterday performing as Mikette for Black Cotton Foundation's Post Holiday Party and Charity Event. I love performing especially when it's to light up children's faces and inspire them to live their dreams. I'm so glad I was a part of an event that gives and helps children and families.

This event was held at the Stephen Crane Recreation Center in the North Ward of Newark, NJ. I was so happy to spread more MJ love in my hometown and to be accepted. As I walked in, I saw the children light up with joy in their eyes and smile with happiness. I was also happy to see one of my co-workers there. She is related to one of the guys who coordinated the event and once she knew it was me performing, she came out. Big love to her. My brother and mom was there when I arrived with my boyfriend.

I arrived alittle after 3pm and I was wearing my black and gold military jacket with my glove. Once I changed into my black button up, I was ready to get out there and give it my all. My brother introduced me to the audience. I did a medley to "Man In The Mirror," "Dangerous," and "Wanna Be Starting Something." The crowd enjoyed it so much. The children were drwan to me for the rest of the time there. I even got to judge a dance contest for the children to win a bucket of Hershey's chocolate and a Michael Jackson Immortal Tour Soundtrack. The child that won was very happy and lucky as well.

After I performed we all began to eat and then Spiderman showed up. The children was excited. I walked around and talked to the children, took photos and signed my photo cards. Then it was time to hand out gifts and Teddy Bears to the children and they left with a smile. Big love to Black Cotton Foudation for always making people happy by lending a helping hand.
